Global Look at Mars Night
A global night of Mars observation bringing together observatories, astronomy clubs, artists, scientists, and the public.
Around the world, participants will turn their telescopes toward Mars and take part in shared observing sessions, sketching activities, talks, and local events.
This evening will also launch the Hemispheres of Mars project, inviting artists and scientists to draw Mars as they see it through the telescope. These observations will explore the many “hemispheres” of Mars: north and south, east and west, scientific and artistic, visual and interpretive.

The Road to Mars Began in Savigliano
This spring event will celebrate the legacy of Giovanni Schiaparelli and the nineteenth-century observations that transformed the way Mars was seen, mapped, and imagined.
The program in Savigliano is expected to include conferences, music, school events, and a final public concert, with Mars as both a scientific object and a source of artistic inspiration.
Events in Nice, Paris, and around the globe will be added here as they are confirmed.

August 2027 ● Celebration of the 150th anniversary of Asaph Hall’s discovery of the satellites of Mars at the US Naval Observatory in Washington, DC.
October 2027● Mars in Science Fiction, Pseudoscience, and Reality. A discussion involving science fiction writers and futurists and scientists to discuss what we are learning about Mars now–and where we go from here.
